About Banana Pectinata iguanas Great Iguana pets, this smaller species typically reaching 24 to 32 inches.are hearty active animals that are interesting to watch and study.

These are the tamest of all spiny tail iguanas, making them great Pets These Iguanas have grown very popular in the last few years because of their striking appearance, easy care and smaller size. Because of their latest popularity they are hard to find in the pet trade.

There are different intensity morphs of these iguanas, They range in color from almost pure yellow over most of their body to a tiger striped looking morph.

These animals eat mostly vgeggitabls but we still feed them mealworms sometimes  making them Omnivores which are easy to feed.

These iguanas do not not need as much space to raise as Green or Cyclura Iguanas.

These are good pets for folks living up north or who have smaller living spaces 

These animals come from the Western coast of Mexico from Northern Sinaloa to Southern Oaxaca living right along the coast and inland

The Saban black iguana (Iguana iguana melanoderma), also known as the painted black iguana, is a subspecies of the green iguana found on the islands of Saba and Montserrat in the Caribbean. .

The Black Dragon was initially thought to be a a melanistic morph of the green iguana, meaning that it has a dark black or brown coloration. The coloration is thought to be due to a genetic mutation that causes an overproduction of melanin.

but as it has since DNA testing has reveled it has been reclassified as its own species

The Saban black iguana is larger than the green iguana, with adults reaching up to 6 feet in length. They have a black dewlap, high dorsal spikes, and no horns on the snout. The black facial patch between the eye and tympanum is also a distinguishing characteristic.

The Saban black iguana is an arboreal lizard that lives in the rainforests of Saba and Montserrat.

hey are omnivorous, eating fruits, leaves, insects, and small animals.

The lizards are preyed upon by hawks, snakes, and feral cats. The Saban black iguana is a protected species in both Saba and Montserrat. However, the population is declining due to habitat loss, predation, and the introduction of non-native species.
